THE POSITION
We are seeking a new team member in an entry level position as an Assistant Appraiser. In this role the candidate will be involved in conducting complete fixed asset inventories, reconciliation, and data collection for valuation and report processing.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Responsible for assisting Project Managers in fixed asset inventories for buildings, machinery and equipment, infrastructure, land, and land improvements.
- Develop knowledge of services AssetWorks provides and basic concepts relating to appraisal and accounting.
- Learn proprietary software.
- Develop an understanding of accounting and insurance capital asset valuation, using direct, standard and normal costing techniques with consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain detailed documentation on all assignments.
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software (word documents, spreadsheets).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface with appraisal staff, administrative staff, and clients.
- Work independently with minimal supervision by Regional Manager.
- Maintain time and expense reports and submit on a regular, timely basis.
- Complete Project Status Log weekly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
THE PERSON
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors degree, strong PC skills and an ability to work on multiple tasks. Basic building construction knowledge is a plus. The position requires approximately 70% overnight travel.
