Trapeze Group (“Trapeze”) today announced that the City of Burlington has selected Trapeze for an Intelligent Transportation System and Paratransit System.

The Trapeze solution for the City of Burlington includes computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) technology for over 50 buses in Burlington’s fleet.

The Trapeze Group’s ITS system allows Burlington’s transit to maximize efficiency and give dispatchers and drivers the tools required to achieve maximum performance. With access to real time tracking, dispatchers are able to instantly locate buses and quickly and accurately answer ‘Where’s my bus?’ questions. The solution provides real-time schedules and route adherence status to allow drivers to know whether they are early or late on their route.

Burlington Transit has also acquired new technologies which allow their passengers to get real-time information and updates that enable them to quickly plan trips and access real time schedules through internet browsers.

Burlington’s transit can utilize Trapeze software to alert passengers and operators of operational incidents. Incidents such as detours, breakdowns, and accidents occur on a daily basis and this solution gives operational notices to passengers through multiple communication channels. The mobile system allows passengers to access route stop and station data using either a smartphone or a non-smartphone. These technologies will allow Burlington Transit system to continue to satisfy passengers and provide an accomplished transit system for the city.

Burlington transit provides public passenger transport to citizens and visitors within the Burlington area and is a component of the City of Burlington.
