Columbus Public Schools Selects Trapeze
District will use MapNet 3.0, Web and Redistricting software for transport operations
AUGUST 13, 2002 (Scottsdale, AZ) -- Trapeze Software today announced it has been awarded a contract by Columbus Public Schools, Columbus, OH, to provide software for the district’s routing, scheduling, school trip, transportation web data and redistricting operations.
Columbus Public Schools will use the Trapeze MapNet 3.0 software suite to manage transportation-related tasks for transportation to approximately 28,000 regular and special education students in a 209-square mile area.
MapNet 3.0 suite includes MapNet for routing and scheduling and Trapeze School Trip for trip management estimates, billing and scheduling. The suite’s School Trip module will help Columbus schools coordinate and manage costs for more than 1,900 annual field trips.
Using MapNet Web will allow the schools to share student transport data, weather reports and other school bulletins with parents and school officials via the Internet. They will also use the MapNet Redistricting module for geographic enrolment, demographic and student projection analysis projects. This module will also assist the schools with their Open Enrollment and Community Choice programs.
“Columbus Public Schools is committed to a Continuous Improvement Plan,” said Steven McKinley, Operations Manager for the school division of Trapeze Software Group. “We are pleased to have been chosen to help them operate their transportation department more efficiently and effectively.”
