Trapeze Releases AVL Interface for MapNet
New Interface will Provide Real-time Bus Location
MARCH 6, 2003 (CLEVELAND, OH) – Trapeze Software announced today it has released an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) interface for its popular MapNet product.
“Knowing the location of every school bus is vital in today’s world,” said Rick Bacchus, President of Trapeze Software. “Our AVL Interface will allow school transportation departments to track the movement of all the school bus in their fleet and alert them immediately to problems.”
The AVL Interface provides real-time location and location history for school buses. Additional features include driver alert notifications, safety zone alerts and speed limit alerts. The AVL information is automatically compared with the school bus schedule to develop compliance information, ensuring accurate route planning.
“Trapeze products have been integrated with AVL technology in the public transportation sector for a number of years, and we are looking forward to bringing this experience to our school transport customers,” Bacchus explains.
Trapeze MapNet is a comprehensive route planning, scheduling and transportation management application used by school districts throughout North America and the United Kingdom.
