Trapeze Releases Enhanced Mapping

Upgrade allows greater customization

June 27, 2003 (Toronto, ON) –Trapeze Software Group announced today that it has enhanced the mapping capabilities of its transportation software applications.

The new mapping features, available for versions 4.61 and higher, enable users to adjust a variety of map elements including the color and thickness of streets. Users working with digital maps that include land use data can also apply and customize the appearance of polygons representing parks, bodies of water, buildings, airports and other features.

These enhancements will also be included in Trapeze Internet applications, including web-based trip planning and online demand response trip booking.

“Our customers have been asking for greater customization tools in our integrated maps” explains Rick Bacchus, President of Trapeze Software. “This release is the first step in a long-term plan to improve our mapping. Later this year we will be introducing improvements to our labels and icons as well.”

Trapeze applications use GIS data to perform many core functions such as defining route patterns, scheduling with street routing, and geocoding time points, bus stops, client addresses, common locations, and service area boundaries.
Future versions of Trapeze products will also enable users to control and configure multiple layers of map data.
