Ride Solution, Inc. Selects Trapeze

System will analyze paratransit and route-deviated services

SEPTEMBER 12, 2003 (SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – Trapeze Software announced today it has been awarded a contract to provide Ride Solution, Inc. in Palatka, Florida with software for its transportation operations.

Ride Solution provides coordinated transportation services for Putnam County, Florida and is a subcontractor for paratransit services to Jacksonville Transit Authority and Duval County.

Ride Solution will use Trapeze PASS, FLEX, and PLAN to optimize its flex route service in Putnam County and to analyze data from surrounding counties for flex route potential. Ride Solution, a leading proponent of the flexible or deviated route service models in Florida, has a contract with the Florida Department of Transportation to assemble technologies conducive to the implementation and support.

“We chose the Trapeze system because the integration of its products has the potential to yield a very thorough analysis of where and how demand response services can be condensed into flexible routes. Flex routing produces a very stable, repeatable special needs transportation or demand response schedule that also provides for walk-on access by the general public if the proper groundwork is done before service is attempted,” said Boyd Thompson, Director of Ride Solution. “We are confident that by finding the optimum balance between the two modes, we’ll be able to serve a growing population in the most responsive, cost-effective manner.”

The Trapeze system also includes an interface to streamline Medicaid data entry for faster eligibility verification and claims submissions.

Ride Solution was recently recognized by the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged for its cost-savings efforts and use of fixed route vehicles to serve paratransit customers.
