Westchester County Improves Customer Information Services with Trapeze Technology

Multi-Media Solution Includes Call Center, Web and IVR Modules

January 29, 2004 (Scottsdale, AZ) – Westchester County Department of Transportation (WCDOT), located in Mount Vernon, NY, has selected Trapeze Software to provide a multi-media customer information system that will provide the public with comprehensive information about transit services in Westchester County.

The new system will provide the public with a variety of transit information service options, including the call center, computerized voice and web-based technologies. The integrated information system will serve static and dynamic schedule and trip planning information from one central database.

The Trapeze technology will enable WCDOT to more closely integrate its fixed route and demand response information services in order to better serve the public. This means that paratransit passengers, for example, can more easily be provided with information about accessible fixed route transport options.

“The Westchester County Department of Transportation chose the Trapeze system for it’s modular and multi-modal approach to information maintenance and dissemination,” explained Bill Leverence, Director, Fiscal Operations at WCDOT.

“WCDOT anticipates that Trapeze system will provide solutions to our immediate transit information maintenance and dissemination needs as well as those encountered in the future. We look forward to benefiting from Trapeze’s expertise and support in all aspects of this project.”
