Trapeze Customers Honored at CTAA Expo
Concord Area Transit and Orange County Transportation Authority Receive Awards
JULY 19, 2004 (SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – At the annual Expo held June 14-17, 2004, in Seattle, WA, the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) chose Concord Area Transit (Concord) in Concord, NH as the Rural Community Transportation System of the Year, and Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) as the Urban Community Transportation System of the Year.
Concord provides fixed route, demand response and senior transportation services for Belknap and Merrimack counties in New Hampshire. Small and efficient, the agency provides 52 demand response trips per day in eleven towns with 2 vehicles, and has a 3 peak vehicles for 3 fixed routes with over 110 bus stops. “This honor is the result of the many innovations CAT implemented to improve accessibility and service delivery to our clients,” said Mickey McIver, Executive Director of Concord Area Transit. “All of our staff deserves credit for learning how to maximize the benefit of the Trapeze technology and helping to improve our tracking and reporting capability.” Concord uses Trapeze software to route and schedule demand response vehicles.
Every weekday more than 60,000 people use OCTA’s fixed route service, which operates 600 buses on 80 routes within Orange County. OCTA’s demand response service, ACCESS, handles more than 778,000 trips per year and covers more than 7.3 million passenger miles. "With a combination of services for our different riders, a comprehensive outreach program and a dedication to customer service, OCTA continues to respond to our community's needs to provide a public transportation system that our residents can be proud of,” said Greg Winterbottom, OCTA’s Chairman. OCTA uses Trapeze software to book, schedule and dispatch demand response trips.
