Trapeze Launches NOVUS for Demand Response Transportation Management
Browser-based product offers automated, real-time scheduling and dispatching
SCOTTSDALE, AZ, JUNE 14, 2005 – Trapeze Group today announced the release of Trapeze NOVUS™, a new browser-based demand response scheduling, routing and dispatching management solution for the community transportation market. Leveraging the power of Trapeze algorithms, NOVUS is the first in a new generation of people transportation solutions from Trapeze using Web-enabled technology. NOVUS beta sites have already been successfully installed in California with the City of Huntington Beach and in Washington at HopeSource in Ellensburg.
Commented Larry Anderson, director of transportation with HopeSource. “This new Trapeze technology will put us ahead of the curve concerning our immediate transportation software needs, and it enables us to be on the cutting edge of transportation technology well into the future. The NOVUS installation has been faster and easier than expected, and the program has been customized to our specific needs.”
The thin-client technology of NOVUS enables all business logic and data to reside on a central server while users access the application through a customizable, user-friendly Web interface. This approach reduces training time and speeds implementation. It also makes NOVUS ideal for state-wide, regional or local coordinated systems and for organizations with remote employees needing to provide access to their systems through the Internet in a secure environment.
NOVUS makes it possible for demand response organizations to see an improvement in their customer service by streamlining and simplifying requests for information and trip booking. Organizations may also benefit from an increase in passengers per hour ratios through the ability to update schedules in real-time on the day of service.
“NOVUS offers the power of automated scheduling and dispatching at a substantially lower technology investment due to its simplified implementation and ease of ongoing maintenance making it a very good fit for smaller and/or decentralized transportation providers,” said Robert Dukes, general manager of Trapeze’s Community Transportation and Medical Divisions. “The release of NOVUS is a huge step forward in making the powerful Trapeze algorithms available to businesses that have never before had the benefit of automated scheduling.”
