Travelers are instantly matched based on origin and destination, going date and arrival time, return date and depart time, time flexibility in minutes, search distance at the origin and destination and any special needs. These applications also allow for direct text messaging of carpooling information to travelers directly from the web. Additional web technologies include turn by turn directions and direct e-mail.
