With the launch of RISC (Risk, Incident, and Safety Compliance) this year, I not only wanted to support agencies by finding solutions to common safety challenges but also raise the bar on how we think about safety and safety compliance. Agencies have safety plans, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and care deeply about safety, but are often hamstrung by:

• Data stuck in departmental silos (read more about this in my breaking down data silos blog).
• Lack of coordination across departments on responses to incidents.
• Lack of accountability for who is doing what and when to mitigate a safety incident.
• Not having the tools to implement the data gathering and reporting parts of their SMS.
